Bhubaneswar: Ollywood star Tanmay Mohanty, popularly known as Babushan, has been fined for riding a bike without helmet, Commissionerate police said last night.
“We adore our actors. But, when Tanmay, better known as Babushan, was found to be riding a bike without a helmet, a challan was issued. That’s our duty. Do follow traffic safety norms always,” Commissionerate police tweeted.

According to reports, Babushan was riding a two-wheeler near Kalinga Nagar area here without wearing a helmet, a video of which went viral on social media.
Taking suomotu cognisance of the incident, the Commissionerate Police issued a challan of Rs 1000 against the actor under the Motor Vehicle Ammended Act, 2019.
The new laws under the Motor Vehicle Act (2019) aim at stringent punishments for violation of traffic regulations and ensure discipline on roads.
