Oil tanker mows-down two in Sambalpur district
Two youths were killed after a speeding oil-tanker mowed-down them on NH 55 in Rairakhol town of Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.
Sambalpur: Two youths were killed after a speeding oil-tanker mowed-down them on NH 55 in Rairakhol town of Odisha’s Sambalpur district today. The deceased were identified as Shamsundar Bhitiria and Shubhendu Sahu of Rairakhol.
The truck driver reportedly fled the scene soon after hit the bike of the deceased from behind while the irate locals staged a road blockade demanding his arrest. Several vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road due to the blockade
Soon, a team of cops from the local police station reached the spot and tried to pacify the locals. Rairakhol MLA Rohit Pujari and SDPO also reached the spot after getting information about the accident. They managed to pacify the mob and convince them to lift the road blockade.
