Balangir: A 25-year-old man was charred to death in his pan shop near Law College here in Odisha last night under mysterious circumstances, the police said on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj Kheti of Malpada area of the district headquarters town.
According to reports, the fire broke out when Kheti was sleeping inside it. Family members of the deceased have alleged that it was a murder over past enmity.
It is not the first time the shop has caught fire, the family members said. Earlier, miscreants had allegedly torched the shop in fire.
Meanwhile, the police seized the body and sent it to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for the autopsy test.
“A case has been registered in this connection and investigation is underway,” police said.
