Baripada: Odisha Vigilance today apprehended one Bikram Behera, the Junior Assistant of the office of the Block Education Officer at Badasahi of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
Odisha Vigilance apprehended Behera while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a Complainant (Retired Head Master) for preparation of a bill towards the release of arrear salary inside the office campus of the DEO, Mayurbhanj, Baripada.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the exclusive possession of Behera.
Following the trap, the residential quarter of the accused at LIC Colony in Baripada, office at Badasahi and his native village at Chhelia (B), P.S.- Badasahi are being searched from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case 15/2022 u/s 7 PC Amendment Act.2018 has been registered.
Further investigation is underway against Behera.
