Odisha ULB Polls 2022: Heavyweight leaders including candidates, 5T Secretary and Mission Shakti Secretary cast votes

Bhubaneswar: Several heavyweight leaders including the candidates and bureaucrats of Odisha joined the people of the State in exercising their franchises for the ongoing Urban Polls-2022 today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave his vote at booth no. 544 in Aerodrome UP School under Ward No.53 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

BJD’s Organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das and his family members casted their votes at Bahabalapur Nodal UP School of Jajpur district.

Heavyweight Leaders give vote

Likewise, Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya and Balangir MLA Narasingha Mishra exercised their franchises at booth no. 61 of Brahmachari Primary School in Bargarh and booth no 44 of Laxminarayan Pada respectively.

On the other hand, Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan also gave his vote at booth no. 27 of ward no 19 at Handidhua High School.

BJD’s Mayor Candidate for Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) election, Subash Singh casted his vote at booth no. 84 of ward no 13 along with his wife Nivedita Das. Likewise, Congress Mayor candidate Giribala Behera casted her vote in ward no. 4 in DAV School while BJP Mayor Candidate Sritam Das voted in ward no. 10 in Mansinghpatna School.

VK PandianSecretary to CM (5T), VK Pandian and his wife Mission Shakti Secretary Sujata R. Karthikeyan casted their votes at a model booth in Unit 6 in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

OTDC chairperson Shreemayee Mishra gave her vote at Kasturaba Shikshya Ashram Vidyamandir in Nayapalli of Bhubaneswar.

BJP’s State president Samir Mohanty has given his vote at booth no. 620 of ward no.60 in Bhubaneswar.

The Mayor candidates of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) and others also exercised their franchise at their respective booths.

Voting began in 106 Urban Local Bodies and three municipal corporations of the State at 8 AM today.

More than 40.55 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise in the Odisha Urban Local Body (ULB) Elections. As many as 6411 candidates are in the fray for the election. While 569 candidates are contesting for the post of chairperson and mayor, 5,842 candidates are there for the election to councillor and corporator seat.
