Odisha: Sundargarh ADM found having property worth crores during searches

Sundargarh: Assets worth crores unearthed in Disproportionate Assets (DA) searches on Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Sundargarh. Odisha Vigilance conducted raids on his multiple properties on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.

The Additional District Magistrate has been identified as Biswajit Mohapatra.

Searches were conducted at 7 places in Khordha, Sundargarh, and Jagatsinghpur districts.

As many as 7 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 8 DSsP, 2 Inspectors, 5 ASIs and other staff conducted the searches on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed; 1) One double storyed building at Naharkanta, Bhubaneswar worth about Rs. 89 lakhs. 2) One flat at Asiana, Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar. 3) 10 plots in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur.

Mohapatra had started cement business recently in name of his spouse. A godown with Cement stocks opposite to his house in Balianta, Bhubaneswar unearthed. Finance Wing of Odisha Vigilance is carrying out valuation of Cements stocks at the go-down.

Over Rs. 2.42 Crores found in Bank Fixed deposits, Saving Accounts, Insurance Premium, Mutual Funds and NPS.

Further searches are continuing.
