Jharsuguda: In a major setback for the state unit of Congress, senior party leader and Jharsuguda district president Girish Ranjan Panda joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) here on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming elections.
Panda joined the conch party along with hundreds of his supporters in the presence of Naba Kishore Das.
Notably, Panda had resigned from the Congress yesterday alleging negligence by the party and sent his resignation letter to Odisha PCC president Niranjan Patnaik.
