Bhubaneswar: The Quick Action Team (QAT) and Saheed Nagar police arrested dreaded criminal Pappu alias Somnath Bhujabala and three of his aides from near Jayadev Vihar here on Monday night.
Police also seized 30 grams of brown sugar, a mouser, two live bullets, Rs 5,000, eight mobile phones and a car from their possession.
Speaking about the criminals and their arrest, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo said, “Based on a reliable input, the QAT and Sahid Nagar police raided a secluded spot under Saheed Nagar police limits and arrested the four accused who were in a car. Police also seized brown sugar, cash, mobile phones and firearms from their possessions.”
“From the preliminary investigation, we came to know that one of the accused was engaged in drug peddling. We were in search of him as several cases are pending against him at different police stations. Besides, we are gathering more information about three others and their criminal records,” he added.
