Odisha: Salipur JMFC directs Mahanga IIC to take up further investigation against Pratap Jena

Mahanga: In the Mahanga double murder case Salipur JMFC has directed Mahanga IIC to take up further investigation against Pratap Jena. Hearing upon a protest petition in the matter of the Mahanga double murder case he issued the directive.

Ramakanta Baral, son of deceased Kulamani Baral had filed the protest petition. A case had been filed on last January 3 in this matter.

In the FIR complain had been made against 13 persons and an unknown person. After investigation, Police had filed the charge sheet on May 5 against 14 people. However, there was no mention of Pratap Jena in the charge sheet. The Investigation officer also mentioned in the charge sheet that even there were no phone calls made from the mobile of Pratap Jena to any of the 13 persons who were mentioned in the charge sheet and their call records had been verified.

On the other hand, the witnesses of the case had also not mentioned name of Jena. Even the Investigating Officer has reportedly mentioned in the charge sheet that the complainant has not said that there is threat from Jena.
