Bhubaneswar: The fake Odisha doctor, Ramesh Swain, who had 14 wives from different states across the country now has three more wives, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash.
Reportedly, the three wives include a highly educated woman from Odisha, a doctor from Guwahati, and a chartered accountant of Chhattisgarh.
“The number of wives might increase. We have already initiated an investigation,” added DCP Dash. The relevant sections of law relating to looting money from those women and infidelity will be applied against him.
A special team has been formed for investigation including IIC of Mahila Police Station, two sub-inspectors, one NGO Counselor.
It has been alleged he was residing at a rented house in Patrapada showing fake identity documents in 2021.
Bhubaneswar DCP also added that the fake doctor Ramesh Swain will be taken in remand for further investigation.
Notably, the 54-year-old Romeo of Odisha’s Kendrapara has married 14 women from various cities including Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi.
He had created several profiles with a high qualification background on various online wedding websites. Using these fake profiles, he used to trap women from across the country and tie knots with them.
