Odisha reports 559 Covid-19 cases, 71 children infected

Bhubaneswar: A total of 559 Covid-19 positive cases including 71 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,36,532, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Wednesday.

Among the 559 positives, there are 321 quarantine cases and 238 local contact cases. The new recovery cases stands at 618, taking the total number of 10,23,398. Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,785.

Besides, the state pool has 68 new Covid positive cases.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,292 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 84 years old Female of Jagatsinghpur District.

2.A 1 Month years old male child of Nayagarh District.
