Odisha reports 197 Covid cases, 2 fatalities

Bhubaneswar: A total of 197 Covid-19 positive cases including 25 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

With 197 positives, the tally rose to 10,48,880 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Monday.

Among the 197 positives, 115 are quarantine cases and 82 are local contacts. However, 221 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,38,085. Currently, the active cases stands at 2333.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients from Bargarh, taking the death toll to 8,409 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 80 years old Male of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Chronic Kidney Disease.

2. A 70 years old Male of Baragarh District.
