Odisha: Passing Out Parade Of 2nd Batch DSP Probationers Held

Bhubaneswar: The passing out parade of the 2nd batch DSP Probationers was held today at Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) in the state capital.

Police DG, B.K.Sharma attended the programme as chief guest and took the ceremonial salute. Addressing the passing out officers Sharma reiterated the 5-T Mantra and Mo Sarkar initiative and asked them to rise to the expectation of people while serving in the field. He also emphasised on honesty, integrity and transparency of officers in their service carrier and advised them to maintain cordial relationship with public. He called upon the officers to adopt technology in their day to day work and cautioned them not to misuse the power bestowed upon them.

16 numbers of DSP Probationers completed their training today who joined in the institute in July, 2017 for undergoing two years of basic course training. These officers were directly recruited to Odisha Police Service (OPS) in the rank of DSP in the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2015 conducted by OPSC.

Their first phase basic course training continued for 10 months at BPSPA. Primarily they were imparted training on the subjects including Criminal Major Acts (IPC, CRPC, Indian Evidence Act), Special and Local Laws, Criminology, Crime Prevention, Police in Modern India, Republic of India, Public Order, Traffic and Security and Investigation and Trial Methods and Skill.

After completion of their institutional training they appeared at the final examination held in the month of April, 2018. After their examination they were given training on Anti Extremist and Tactics Course (AET) at SOG Chandaka. In the year 2017, 13 numbers of first batch direct recruit DSPs had completed their 2 year training and passed out successfully.
