Odisha Panchayat Elections 2022: Repolling to be held in 75 booths

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Election Commission has decided to carry out re-polling at a total of 75 booths.

Repolling for 45 booths in the Odisha Panchayat election 2022 will be held tomorrow and for 30 booths on February 25, 2022.

According to the SEC, Odisha the re- polling will be held due to different reasons such as violence, errors in ballot paper folding and other disturbances during the first and second phases of the ongoing Panchayat election.

Similarly, repolling for 30 booths in the third phase of elections will be held on February 25.

Hence, it is noteworthy that, Odisha State Election Commission has decided to carry out re-polling at a total of 75 booths.

The polling will begin at 9 AM and will continue till 3 PM, informed the SEC.

The State Election Commission decided to conduct the election in 75 booths once again after getting proposals for the same from the concerned district Collectors.

It is to be noted here that the three-tier panchayat election is being held in five phases – February 16, February 18, February 20, February 22 and February 24, while the counting of votes will take place on February 26, 27 and 28.

Notably, the first three phases of the Odisha Panchayat polls particularly the third phase, was marred by several instances of poll violence, rigging and booth capturing.

The final, that is fifth remaining phase of polling will be held on February 24, 2022.
