Paralakhemundi: Gajapati police today arrested a youth for burglary of gold ornaments weighing around 300 grams from the house of his uncle in the first week of this month.
Police have recovered all the stolen properties from the accused identified as Chinmay Mishra. Police have also seized a car used in the crime.
Police said that the accused had also decamped with the keys of the house of the owner Pramod Panda days before committing the crime.
“During investigation, we found that the accused had only broken the lock of one almirah which had the ornaments. Besides the house was also locked from outside with the help of keys. So we suspect the involvement of insiders in the incident,’ said Gajapati SP, Sarah Sharma.
