Khurda: An unidentified man allegedly fled with a goat to celebrate Chhadakhai after purchasing it with fake currency notes from an elderly poor man in Odisha’s Khurda district today.

A 70-year-old, Pandab Naik, of Haj village in Jankia tehsil of the district was grazing his goats in a roadside field. In the meantime, an unidentified man met him and expressed his willingness to buy a goat to celebrate the Chhadakhai festival.

After their deal was finalised, the unidentified man gave Naik a sum of Rs 9000, all in the form of denomination of Rs 500. The elderly man was extremely happy to have sold a goat and get some money in hand.

Sadly, Naik’s happiness existed till he reached the house as he was told by the family members that he was duped and all the notes were fake. However, he could not go to the police station to file a complaint due to his old age.
