Paralakhemundi: A lady doctor working at Community Health Centre (CHC) in Mohana of Odisha’s Gajapati district has been accused of taking bribe from a pregnant woman for treatment.
According to reports, one Philip Nayak of Jhinjiriguda village in Kandhamal district took his wife Jasanna Nayak to Mohana CHC after she complained some gynaecological problem on Wednesday.
However, the lady doctor posted at the CHC allegedly asked them to visit her house for the treatment.
Accordingly, the couple visited the doctor’s house where she allegedly demanded and took Rs 2700 from them to treat Jasanna.
Receiving a complaint by locals, BDO Banshidhar Khosla visited the CHC for spot enquiry and directed the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to furnish a report in this regard.
On receiving a complaint against the lady doctor, Mohana BDO Banshidhar Khosla visited the CHC for enquiry and subsequently asked the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to look into the matter.
