Jajpur : Police raided a house and seized huge quantity of illicit foreign-made liquor in Rambila village under Dasrathpur area in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Friday. One person has been arrested in this connection.
The arrested person is identified as Bijay Mallick of the village under Mangalpur police limits in the district.
Based on a tip off about selling of illicit foreign-made liquor, a police team led by Mangalpur police IIC Harish Singh conducted the raid at a house owned by Jayaram Mallick.
Police seized as many as 21 cartoons of foreign-made liquor including 225 liters of liquor from the house. However, Jayaram managed to flee from the spot.
A case has been registered at Mangalpur Police Station in this connection.
