Talcher: Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena on Wednesday inaugurated a 50-bedded maternity and child care hospital at Talcher in Angul district on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day.
Jena inaugurated the Maternity & Childcare Hospital in the presence of local MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan, Angul Collector Anil Samal, Municipality Chairman Pabitra Bhutia and senior officials.
The hospital has been built at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
Addressing on the occasion at Talcher sub-divisional hospital, the Health Minister said, “The hospital will be effective in providing adequate services in the field of maternity and child care in Talcher sub-division.”
He considered the demands of locals regarding scarcity of doctors and para-medical staffs in this hospital.
Besides, the Minister assured the local residence that recruitment of medical staff and doctors will be expedited.
