Odisha Gets Its First Robot Restaurant In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The state capital today got its first restaurant in which two robots will serve food to customers.

The restaurant named ‘Robo Chef’ was inaugurated today at the DLF Cybercity in Infocity area. The owner of the restaurant Jeet Basa claimed that the restaurant is the first in eastern India where two indigenously developed robots will serve food.

“The robots are named Champa and Chameli and are made by a Jaipur based company. They have a voice-operated system to greet the customers and wish them. In fact, they can speak Odia and wish customers ‘Apana Mane Khusi Ta’ (Are you happy),” said Basa.  

Basa having a Civil engineering degree said that the concept was created for innovation in the restaurant. “ This will create a place of the state in the country for innovation in the hotel industry,” added Basa.
