Odisha CM Announces Medical College In Phulbani

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced to set up a Medical College and Hospital at Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital.

The decision was taken on the basis of visit reports of ‘Mo Sarkar’ teams to six districts in the state. Besides the Chief Minister also announced to increase the number of beds at Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital to 500 for the Medical College.

The chief minister also announced a new 200 bedded district hospital in Boudh along with an additional building with 100 beds in Nayagarh District Hospital.  Similarly, Patnaik announced a new building with 100 beds in Kalahandi District Hospital.

This apart, ambulance and mahaprayana service will be added to Rayagada and Nuapada district hospitals, said Patnaik.

For the convenience of attendants, all district hospitals to have rest sheds, he added. In addition to this, Rs 15 lakh will be sanctioned to all Rogi Kalyan Samities from CMRF for patient welfare and innovations.

The ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative will be expanded to five more departments by December 1 and will cover all departments by March 5 next year, added the Chief Minister.
