Odisha: Gandhi’s statue unveiled at KIIT varsity

Bhubaneswar: A life-size statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University campus here in Odisha to mark his 150th birth anniversary on October 2.

KIIT & KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta unveiled the statue of the Father of Nation.

Eminent poets and writers from 82 countries, who have come to the KIIT University to participate in the 39th World Congress of Poets (WCP), paid floral tribute to the statue.

The KIIT University is hosting the 39th World Congress of Poets (WCP) today. More than 1000 poets and writers from 82 countries including India and 500 poets from Odisha will attend the five-day-long event.  ‘Compassion through Poetry’  is the theme of 39th World Congress of Poets.
