Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Saturday exempted Goods and Services Tax (GST) on 149 items in the state following the implementation of GST from today.
As per the notification issue by the state government, GST has been exempted from 149 items, including milk, curd, paneer, egg, tomato, potato, onion, garlic, cabbage, radish, cucumber, vegetables, coconut, banana, pineapple, guava, mango, mustard seed, nut, paan leaves, Jaggery, Mudhi, papad, newspapers, magazines, khadi, Gandhi cap, National Flag and earthen pots.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had expressed happiness over the fact that Odisha played an “important” role in the GST.
“The implementation of GST should be smooth and take care of all doubts and concerns to benefit the common man, trade, commerce & industry,” he had said.
