Odisha CM reviews COVID situation, advises to administer booster shot to senior citizens & frontline workers

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday reviewed the COVID situation in the State and gave emphasis on the administration of booster shot to the senior citizens and frontline workers.

While reviewing the pandemic situation through video conference, Patnaik said that the number of active patients in the State has come down and new positive cases also have decreased. Due to this, the demand for hospitalization in this third wave is also low. However, we should give room for complacency.

He advised that the administration should keep a close watch on the Covid19 situation and remain prepared. Besides, awareness campaigns should be done across the State with the active support of the members of Mission Shakti groups.

The Chief Minister also advised the State Police to ensure strict adherence of COVID safety guidelines by the general public.

He also advised the Rapid Response Teams and field workers to monitor the health conditions of Covid patients who are undergoing treatment in home isolation.

Patnaik also urged the people not to get panic over the current circumstances rather to strictly observe Covid safety guidelines.
