Odisha CM distributes land patta to people displaced in Lakhanpur & Sorada

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed land patta to the people who were displaced due to different projects in Lakhanpur ofJharsuguda district and Sorada of Ganjam district.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed land patta to the people who were displaced due to different projects in Lakhanpur ofJharsuguda district and Sorada of Ganjam district.

People of Lakhanpur tehsil of Jharsuguda district have been facing various problems for years due to land issue. On August 20, 5T Chairman V.K. Pandian visited the area and took decision for their settlement. The survey was started for their 18 revenue villages. Out of these, 866 families of 7 villages have been surveyed and land patta have been given. The remaining 11 villages are being surveyed and a total of 1339 families of these villages will get land patta soon.

Similarly, the land of 22 villages in Sorada Tehsil of Ganjam district was recorded in the name of Water Resources Department in 1983. Today, the land of 17 villages has gone to the revenue department and their settlement is going on. Out of these, 962 people have been allotted land patta for house and 700 people have been allotted land patta for plots by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. After the visit of 5T Chairman on 26th and 27th of August, the survey work was intensified and the process to solve the longstanding problem was started.

While addressing on this occasion through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that I have always made a determined effort to solve the problems of the common people and your happiness is my greatest achievement.
