Odisha CM announces Rs 155 crore package for various development works in Balasore Municipal area: Details

Balasore: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced a whopping Rs. 155 crore package for the all-round development of Balasore Municipal area.

Earlier today, Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and Works Secretary Kishan Kumar had visited Balasore in the morning. After returning, they had provided a report on the basis of which the CM made the following announcements.

  • Rs 8 crore will be spent on development of the bus stand at Sahadevkhunta.
  • Rs 70 crore will be spent on 6 lane road to be constructed from Tumulia Gate flyover to Station Chhak.
  • Rs 14 crore will be spent to build a multipurpose Indoor Hall, Swimming pool and other sports infrastructure to groom the sportspersons.
  • Rs 53 crore to be spent on beautification of Budhabalanga River.
  • 7 will be spent on drainage channel and development of roads attached to it.

The CM said that the work of Rs. 275 for the Balasore Medical College Teaching Hospital is underway. Also, the Rs 16 crore project to construct concrete roads in the town, building of Community Centre etc. is going on since last four to five months.

We believe in works and not in words. We will go on doing developmental works for Balasore and the residents should cooperate to us, said the CM.
