Odisha: All party meeting to be held today ahead of Monsoon Session

Bhubaneswar: An all-party meeting is going to be held today i.e on Wednesday under the chairmanship of newly elected Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Bikram Keshari Arukha.

The monsoon session of Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from July 2 till August 4.

Hence, a discussion will be held to ensure the smooth conduct of the session in the all party meeting.

It is pertinent to mention that Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari is slated to present the State Budget for the year 2022-23 on the first day of the session (on July 2).

The Monsoon session of the Assembly will have 24 working days and will continue till August 4. The house will be adjourned from July 7 to 13. The second phase of the session will begin on July 14 and will run till August 9.

As part of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, all the ministers, MLAs, staff of the Odisha legislative Assembly and media persons will undergo Covid RT-PCR test from today in the Assembly premises by the team of doctors deployed by the Health & Family welfare department of Odisha. The tests will be conducted on June 29, 30, and July 1.

As the number of covid positive cases are on a rising streak for the last few days in the state, the session could be held under the covid-19 rules and regulations.
