Odisha: 12-hour bandh underway in Dhusuri, normal life affected

Bhadrak: Normal life was crippled in Dhusuri town in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday due to the 12-hour bandh call given by the Anchalik Bikash Parishad, Dhusuri to press six-point of charter of demands.

The demands include fill up of vacant doctors’ posts in Dhusuri Area Hospital, round the clock health service, ambulance service, power supply to hospital etc.

Educational institutions, banks and business establishments remained closed today.

Vehicular traffic on the roads came to a grinding halt in the town due to the dawn-to-dusk bandh. Commuters had a narrowing time reaching their destinations as the protestors resorted to picketing and road blockade in different places in the town.

The locals said that they would intensify their agitation in the days ahead if their demands are not taken into consideration at the earliest.
