Odia migrant labourer goes missing; Case registered after video of GRP beating youth inside running train goes viral

Balesore: An Odia migrant labourer has reportedly gone missing. The labourer has been identified as a resident of Srijang village under Khantapada Police Station in Balesore district.

According to reports, the youth had gone to Kerala to work as a labourer. He was reportedly working as a fisherman in a trawler. However, his mobile phone was switched off after 22 days. Due to this, the family members could not contact him and are clueless about his whereabouts.

However, the family members of the missing youth filed a police complaint at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station in Balasore after receiving a video purportedly showing a GRP personnel kicking a youth inside a running train. They demanded an investigation into the matter and the youth should be brought back home safely as soon as possible.

Based on their allegation, the Balasore GRP is said to have started an investigation into the matter.
