Bhubaneswar: The monsoon rain is likely to touch Odisha by June 6, 2022. Reportedly, the onset of the southwest monsoon is expected to reach Odisha by June 5- June 6.
As a result, the temperatures have been expected to drop in the state from June 3 to June 4.
Odisha is more likely to experience the monsoon rains in the first week of June.
Adding to it, the rainfall in the state has been predicted to be normal in the first phase of the monsoon season while it is likely to decrease during the second phase of the season.
It is pertinent to mention that the monsoon touches the coast of Kerala every year by June 1. However, this year it is likely to be earlier.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the monsoon onset over Kerala is likely to be on May 27 with a model error of ± 4 days.
The initial monsoon rains are experienced over the south Andaman Sea and the monsoon winds then advance north-westwards across the Bay of Bengal.
