Jajpur Town: Unidentified miscreants today decamped with cash worth Rs 3.5 lakh kept in the dickey of a motorcycle in front of Jajpur police station. The victim a government school teacher has kept the money for the marriage of her daughter.
The victim Rabi Naryan Rath, a school teacher by profession had been to the police station to inquire about the status of passport application of one of his relatives when the incident took place. “I have asked one of the staffs who was accompanying t me to keep a watch on the motorcycle. However the miscreants broke the lock and decamped with the cash when he was attending nature’s call,’ said Rath.
Police suspect the miscreants of following Rath as he withdrew the cash from a nationalised bank. Police have started an investigation after registering a case.
