Bhubaneswar: Miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh from the car of an engineer near the Regional Passport Office under Nayapalli police limits today.
The victim had been to the passport office with his wife and son while his younger brother and daughter were inside the car parked near the office. “My daughter started crying for which my younger brother took her to the passport office. By the time we reached the car the bag containing the ornaments was missing,’ alleged the engineer.
The victim also alleged that the miscreants decamped with a mobile phone kept in the car. Later he lodged a formal complaint with the Nayapalli police station.
Police said that they are trying to obtain CCTV footage of the area to identify the miscreants involved in the crime.
