Soro: Throwing an open challenge to police, armed robbers looted Rs 15,000 in cash and gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs from a shop cum residence in Patharapenta village under Bahanaga area last night.
As per the report, a group of four masked men barged into the scrap shop of one Harekrushna Pradhan located along NH-16 at around 11 pm started threatening his family members with sharp weapons. Later they snatched away all valuable jewelleries from Pradhan by putting him at gun point.
As Harekrushna showed some resistance to the looters during the loot they attacked him with a ‘Bhujali’ (sharp weapon) inflicting hand injury.
Neighbours of the victim family rushed the injured to Soro Hospital after the looters fled from the spot and a police case was lodged later.
An investigation is underway in the incident.
