Nabarangpur: The body of a 16-year-old girl was found behind a bush near a paddy field in Gumandali village under Kosagumuda police limits in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of the village.
According to reports, Locals spotted girl’s body with bleeding from her nose in the paddy field, around 500 metre away from the village, early in the morning. They immediately alerted the family members in this regard.
Sources said, the girl was missing since last evening. The family members with the help of the villagers began searching her last night but in vain.
The parents of the girl however alleged that their daughter was raped and murdered by miscreant(s).
On being informed, Kasagumuda police reached the spot and began investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the villagers said that they would not take the body unless the culprit were arrested.
