Mayurbhanj: In a saddening incident, a seven-year-old minor girl has alleged sexual harassment against a 60-year-old man in a village under Karanjia police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
Reportedly, the alleged victim and the accused reside in the same village.
It has been alleged that the 60-year-old man saw the minor girl alone and took advantage of the situation by attempting sexual advances against her.
The family of the minor has lodged a written complaint against the alleged accused with the Karanjia Police. Based on the complaint, the cops have detained the 60-year-old man and initiated a probe into the matter.
Adding to it, officer Ranjan Kumar Sethi of the Karanjia Police team said that firm action would be taken against the incident.
It is pertinent to mention that, a physically challenged minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in the Karanjia area. The incident came to light after the minor’s parents filed a missing FIR at Karanjia police station following which her statement was recorded in the JMFC court and a manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
As per the report, the minor went missing on March 30. Her parents filed a case on April 3 after the failed efforts to find her. Later, on April 6, the girl was spotted walking on a deserted road and rescued by some locals.
