Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and rainfall alert for at least three districts of Odisha till 5 pm today.
Those districts for which the alert has been issued are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore.
As per the latest Nowcast issued by the Weatherman, moderate thunderstorm, lightning and moderate rainfall with hail and wind gusting from 30 to 40 KMPH, is likely to occur at one or two places over these three districts between 2 PM and 5 PM.
As a precautionary measure, people in the alerted districts have been cautioned against moving out of home till 5 pm and advised to take shelter in safe place to avoid any eventuality.
