MeT Dept predicts rainfall in coastal Odisha for next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here on Saturday predicted rainfall in costal Odisha in next 24 hours following the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast.

Speaking to media persons, MeT centre director HR Biswas said that a cyclonic circulation which has formed over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast in the morning is most likely concentrate into a low-pressure in the next 24 hours. Under its influence, more rainfall will occur in the coastal districts from October 28 to 30.

The weathermen forecast moderate and heavy in Puri, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts while on October 28, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore on October 29 and Bhadrak and Balasore on October 30.

The MeT department has warned of rough to very rough sea conditions off the Odisha coast on October 29 and 30. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
