Bhubaneswar: Taking into account the huge public response, the Marine Drive Eco Retreat at Ramchandi beach near Konark has been extended by the tourism department till February 15.
Earlier, the carnival which happens to be Eastern India’s first ‘Glamping’ festival on the beach was to wind up on January 31.
In addition to the extension of the schedule of the carnival, the tourism department has also decided to hold a two-day conclave of all Tourism ministers and secretaries on January 23 and 24 to promote it across the country.
The conclave will be inaugurated by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and attended by Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.
A total 50 luxury cottages have been set up at the venue of the Eco Retreat to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience of glamorous camping in the lap of nature on the beach. Water sports, beach spa, mouth-watering cuisines as well as cultural evenings are in the package.
