Gajapati: In a shocking incident a man and a woman sustained critical burn injuries after setting each other to fire over an illicit affair in Gunupur area last night.
The victims have been identified as Pinky Sabar (30) and G Rama Rao (35) of Gunupur.
The incident took place late in the night after the couple met to have an interaction. After a few minutes of exchange of words, they soaked each other with kerosene and set ablaze.
Family members of both the victims rescued them in critical condition and rushed to Gunupur CHC from where they were shifted to Paralakhemundi hospital for better treatment.
Till the last report came in the man with 80 per cent burn and the woman with 60 per cent burn have been referred to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur.
