Man Trampled To Death By Wild Elephant In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Panic gripped Balarampur village under Dhenkanal Sadar range after a man was crushed to death by a wild tusker on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Surendra Parida.

According to reports, Parida had gone to the nearby cashew field to collect fuelwood when he was attacked by the elephant. He was killed on the spot after being trampled by the tusker.

After receiving information, forest officials reached the spot and seized the body of the deceased.

Meanwhile, irate villagers staged protest alleging that the forest officials are not taking adequate steps to tackle elephant menace in the area.
