Man held for beheading lover, dumping body in forest near Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the Satyabadi Police today arrested a man for beheading his lover and throwing her body into a forested area in Milipada near Chandaka area on the outskirts of the city, a few days ago.

As per the report, the accused identified as Judhistir Swain (26) was in a relationship with the victim Sasmita Biswal (25) of Golabinjheipada village of Puri district for past few years. However, the girl eloped with Swain on December 13 and the duo started living together before the latter took her to the crime scene and beheaded brutally before throwing into the forest on the next day.

The accused claimed that, he carried out the killing after suspecting the character of the victim.

The girl’s family lodged a missing complaint with Satyabadi Police on December 15, following which police detained the victim.

Today, Satyabadi Police took the help of Commissionerate Police and reached the crime spot on the basis of the information given by the accused. The deceased’s clothes along with the weapon of offence were also recovered from the spot.

While the family members of the deceased have alleged that she had been raped and murdered, police are awaiting the autopsy report.
