Balasore: A major mishap was averted on NH 16 when a private bus skidded and rammed into roadside trees near Chaparpada area in Odisha’s Balasore district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The incident occurred at around 3 AM when a tyre of the bus on the driver’s side burst, sources said.
The bus named as “Grand” bearing Regd No: OD 05 G 1646 was travelling from Kolkata to Puri, carrying around 50 passengers, sources added.
At least three passengers sustained minor injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On being informed, local police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
