Low pressure forms over Odisha & neighbourhood

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure has formed over Odisha and neighbourhood on Saturday, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Reportedly, it has formed under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha ­north Andhra Pradesh Coasts.

The weather department also informed that the Monsoon trough now passes through Anoopgarh, Sikar, Gwalior, Satna, Pendra Road, centre of Low-Pressure Area over Odisha & neighbourhood and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal which extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.

It is pertinent to mention that the weather department has issued an Orange and Yellow Warning for different districts of the State from 8.30 AM of July 9 and 8.30 AM of July 13.

The weather department has further predicted heavy rains on July 10 and July 14 across the State while very heavy rainfall in some parts of south Odisha as another low pressure area is also likely to develop on July 13.
