Leopard Skin Seized From Boudh Of Odisha, 1 Arrested

Boudh: On the basis of reliable information, STF team conducted a raid near Bandhanjhulli under Manamunda Police Station in Boudh District.

A raid was conducted as a result of which one accused person identified as  Mahendra Bhaina of Badalguda PS. Manamunda Dist. Boudh was apprehended.

One Leopard skin and other incriminating materials were seized from his possession. The accused person
could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such leopard skin, for which he has been arrested.

In this connection STF PS Case No.17 dated 28.04.2021 under w. 51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 was
registered.

The seized leopard skin will be sent to Wild Life Institute of India, Deharadun for chemical examination. Investigation is underway.

During last one year, Special driver against the wildlife criminals/poachers have been launched, STF has seized as many as 14 Leopard skins, nine Elephant Tusks, two deer skin, three live pangolins and five kgs pangolin scales.

It has arrested arrested 28 wild life criminals. All total 16 cases have been registered against the wild life criminals.
