Balasore: Headmistress of Mathasahi Mahabir Nodal School in Balasore was today suspended after a class-I student was found locked inside school premises yesterday.
The suspension of the headmistress Shanti Pratima Mohapatra came after School and Mass Education Department today directed the district education officer (DEO) to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident.
As per reports the class-I student had gone to the toilet on Wednesday when the teachers and peon allegedly locked the school gate and left. The minor boy was rescued after locals spotted the boy crying near the gate of the school. A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media.
On the other hand, the school authorities claimed they usually lock the students inside the school after their guardians fail to reach on time to pick their wards.
