Bhubaneswar: Kandhamal MP and founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta recently visited Boudh. During the visit, he inaugurated a State-level training workshop on Gramin Awaas Yojana and a training program for Raj Mistris (Masons) at Boudh townhall. Raj Mistris from various districts of Odisha participated in this training program that was organized by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).
On this occasion, Dr. Samanta launched a book on mason skills and competencies. He also distributed tools and gears to the masons. Further, he announced to set up a Skill Development Centre in the district.
Later, Dr. Samanta chaired a Vigilance Monitoring Committee Meeting at the Circuit House. In the meeting, discussions were held on the progress of the developmental works in various departments. He directed officials for completion of the unfinished works within the stipulated time-frame.

He also expressed his concern over the scarcity of drinking water in the city and demanded the completion of the project on a priority basis.
Later in the day, the Kandhamal MP graced the annual function of St. Xavier’s school as the Chief-Guest. In his speech, Dr. Samanta emphasized the importance of education and skill development for a better society and a bright future and awarded the meritorious students. He also inaugurated a new building for the school.
