Puri: In a tragic incident a youth met watery grave in the Narendra Puskarini of Puri on Wednesday. He drowned while taking bath in the holy pond.
The victim has been identified as Smruti Ranjan Sahu of Bari area in Jajpur district in Odisha.
As per reports, Smruti had visited Puri for a trip along with his friends. All of them were taking bath at the Narendra pond when somehow he drowned.
Following the incident, his friends rushed Smruti to the district Head quarter hospital for treatment. However, the doctors there declared him dead.
A pall of gloom descended in Bari area following the sad demise of the youth.
