Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for at least seven districts of Odisha till 1.30 PM today.
Latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Kendrapara between 9.30 AM and 1.30 PM on Friday, said the latest Nowcast released by IMD this morning.
The weather bulletin also cautioned people in these districts against moving out of their homes during the alerted period and advised them to take shelter in safe places to avoid untoward incidents.
