Paralakhemundi: Tension prevailed in Kashinagar area of Gajapati district today after the skeleton of an unknown person was recovered from a farmland under mysterious circumstances.
The incident came to light after some locals who had been to their crop fields for the agricultural purpose this morning came across the skeleton and called up police.
After the police reached the spot and carried out the preliminary investigation with the help of the scientific team, the pant and shirt of the deceased along with a sharp weapon was also found lying nearby.
The skeleton has been rushed to Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by police to ascertain the cause of the death.
A case of unnatural death has been lodged in connection with the incident, said Prakash Chandra Jena, Paralakhemundi SDPO.
