Jajpur: A huge quantity of fake foreign liquor has been seized in Jajpur district of Odisha on Tuesday. One person has been arrested in connection with this case.
The accused has been identified as Abhin Das of Gopanagar village of the district.
According to reports, an autorickshaw was en-route to Kotapur village carrying the huge quantity of fake foreign liquor from a shop in Kantigadia.
Acting on a tip-off, Dharmasala police officer Saroj Kumar Sahoo conducted a raid near Sundaria bridge under Dharamshala police limits and intercepted the vehicle. The cops seized the boxes of fake foreign liquor bottles and arrested the driver.
However, the dealer of the fake liquor managed to flee away from the spot.
The cost of the seized liquor is expected to be more than one lakh rupees. The cops have initiated a probe into the matter.
